I know that drag racing is all about the driver, but what is the car capable of, and what are people turning. Assuming the car is in good running order and hooks reasonably (shocks, springs, sf spacers, decent hi-perf tires) what kind of 60 foot times, and 1/4 mile e.t.'s and trap speeds should I be running if I get my launches and shifting solid and consistent. Just curious, because I'm getting pretty good launches (for my Z anyway), and it's not rocket science getting good, fast, part-throttle-lift shifts. I have a friend with an ecplise gst running 23 psi on a 16G turbo. He swears up and down that he doesn't think I can make a sub 13 second pass after riding in my car, but I think he is possibly underestimating the Z. Will I have to drive it like John Force to run sub 13's, or will a good launch and quick, clean shifts get me into the high 12's. Just curious, as I would love to prove him wrong. Anyhow, he spins through the first 1/8th and runs a 14.2 @ 104 mph, so I think he's just jealous.
